Pumpkin Patch Time

We had a blast last Thursday going to the pumpkin patch. Though the air was cool, the colors were amazing and the kids loved running through the open field and sitting on and kissing the big orange fruits (yes, pumpkins are fruits). Such a blessing are these little munchkins to us! Wow; what will next Fall be like with three kiddos? Can't wait to find out.

Hooray for Fallen Leaves and the Joy They Bring

Did we mention that we love autumn? It's so much fun to rake leaves into giant piles of colorful fortresses and have the kids jump in them! Aaaaaaa.....the sweet smell of fall foliage, the perfect breeze and fresh air in your face, and the amazing sound of children's laughter. Ella & Gray were in all their glory the other day helping me rake leaves and, of course, jump into the piles.

Ella keeps collecting handfuls of "the pretty ones" and calling them her "Celebration Leaves". She even made up a song about "Celebration Leaves" and how, in the end, once all the celebration leaves are carefully picked up, we'll all get to eat chocolate cake. 'Atta girl, El; anyway you can bring chocolate into the story is definitely the way to go!

Grayson, on the other hand, loves picking up leaves......and throwing them on his sister's head. He truly thinks it's the funniest thing. Because he laughs so hard, Ella can't help herself but to join in on the laughter; so much fun!

October is . . .

Well, hello sweet October, you beautiful month of vibrant colors, nostalgic memories and fun festive traditions! Though the temps have been in the mid-to-high 60's for September and most of October, there was a day when Mr. Cold Breeze came whipping down here in these parts (temp was in the mid/low 50s). And of course, it was the day that we visited the pumpkin patch and played in the leaves. But don't fret my dears! There are still many-a-days where we can leaf jump and apple pick in more seasonal temps. Bring it.

Autumn in New England (best time of year to be living here!)

We are in awe of the beauty that surrounds us! The hills and trees are b-u-r-s-t-i-n-g with hues of crimson, ochre, orange, violet, and shades of golden green....it's just breath-taking. It truly is a beautiful time of year (my personal favorite), and a great place to be living at this time of year! If only I wasn't so slow and l-a-r-g-e. Yep; 5 more weeks to go and this baby will get to witness the colors of Autumn for himself (yes, according to last year, some of the leaves are still on the trees in November.)
