They Might Be Giants

I was searching for clothes for Gavin (he's growing so fast that he doesn't even fit in the clothes that he was wearing 10 days ago) when I came across one of Gray's old "Triumph" onesies (size 12-18 mos). To my surprise, it looked like it would fit him NOW, so I put him in it, and yes it fits fine. I took a few pics of the little man in his shirt (love this shirt) and then checked my picture archives to see when Gray was wearing the shirt. To my dismay, he was wearing it exactly 2 years ago (mid-January 2008). It's so funny to see the resemblance of both boys. As Grandma Forbes put it, "it looks like they are from the same bin". I think They Might Be Giants.

Dude

After giving Gavin a bath, I dressed him in his cool "Triumph" shirt and took a few pics. He's too cute and such a great baby. The guitar pic looks like he could be saying, "dude." Dude; look at his rock-star hair!

Sledding 2010 Style

For Christmas Papa & Grandma got the kids a snow tube and, MAN, do the kids LOVE playing on this thing! We've gotten a lot of snow over the past few days so the kids (and Daddy) were able to really enjoy it! Jeff, in my opinion, is hot-to-trot; the snow melts at his very presence; hot stuff!

What to Do on a Snowy Day

We were at the breakfast table the other day just finishing breakfast. The snow was coming down hard and fast; the view was just breath-taking. "Hey Mommy! I have a really good idea! Let's go outside and play in the snow and look for snow trolls and giants and fairies.", said Ella with such fervor. Yes El, sounds like a great idea; but until the snow lets up a bit, lets......uh......(think of something fun fast!)......uh....paint some snow...INDOORS! Yeah! Let's paint snow inside. At the table in the kitchen. Seriously......the kids LOVED IT! First, of course, they needed to eat an entire plateful of snow to be sure it was alright to paint. Then once their bellies were full, they began to sculpt tiny snowmen and paint them with food coloring. Such a great time! While the kids painted, Gavin coo-ed (not poo-ed) and looked on longingly. Love this time.

Bedtime Adventures

Grayson & Ella LOVE storytime. Gray especially loves when Daddy reads stories (Gray loves everything that Daddy does.....it's SO ADORABLE!). I was at the change table one evening changing Gavin's diaper when I happened to catch these candids of Jeff & Gray. L-O-V-E these!

Looking to 2010

2009 has been an amazing year for us. We are so grateful to have welcomed our little Gavin into our family in 2009. But with excitement we look ahead to this New Year, and are grateful to God for every day that we have together. Here's looking at you, kid!

Farewell 2009

Okay... I know; it's been too long since my last post. Time is f-l-y-i-n-g by! Where did 2009 go? Yikes. So let's backtrack to the end of the year in December. This Christmas was a lot of fun as Ella & Gray are both older now and are grasping the concept of what Christmas is really about. It was a blast to watch Ella (unprompted) & Grayson throw blankies over their heads and deem themselves as "beautiful princess Mary and handsome Joseph". Ella was especially excited that baby Gavin is finally here to be "sweet baby Jesus". Kids are so much fun!

We were SO blessed to have Oma & Opa join us this year for Christmas here in NE. What a wonderful time we all had! From merry-go-rides to Christmas cookie & gingerbread-making, to train & princess playing, we all had a very enjoyable time together!
